My experience in Ferdinand Postma Highschool has been a real challenge, from academics to extra curriculums to even friends. They all had their hardships but Ferdies makes sure that you are never alone while doing it.

Hello, I’m Natalie Kaunda, in Gr. 8, I’m here to share my experience of being a baby Ferdie. This school is really serious when it comes to academics alongside your health, they push you towards your goals but also understand when it becomes stressful. It is good to know that they treat you like a normal human being rather than working you to the bone. I can confidently say academics is not for everyone so you can always excel in many other things whether it is one subject, a few or something completely outside of the academic world. I am grateful that the teachers always encourage us even if you get the lowest mark, they still believe in your potential, which gives you a sense of hope.

The school's extra curriculums are really fun but only if you enjoy them. I am promising you, do not do an activity you do not enjoy if you just want a badge, it is not worth it. Rather do it because you have a passion for it or genuinely seems interesting, and who knows, you might excel in that one activity rather than struggling in multiple ones.

Finally, making friends. It has never been easy but once you find people you click with then your high school experience is not that bad. Just never fake being yourself to fit in, because if they really liked you then you would have not changed for them. I am really grateful for my friends and I do not know where I would be without them.
