The Ferdies Movie Night™️ popped off like a firecracker (pun 100% intended), and let’s just say… the vibes were IMMACULATE. The movie of the night? None other than "Playing with Fire" — the chaotic family comedy that had us all wheezing, face-palming, and yelling “bro, WHAT?” every 10 minutes.
Picture this: fairy lights strung like it’s Pinterest-core, popcorn buckets overflowing and the squad piled on bean bags like a bunch of feral raccoons with snacks. Everyone showed up in their comfiest sets — think hoodie x blanket x fuzzy little pyjamas combo. Amazing, right?
Lights, Camera, Fire!
In case you missed the amazing evening, and know nothing about the movie, Playing with Fire stars John Cena as a tough-guy firefighter who ends up babysitting a trio of chaotic kids. It’s basically The Pacifier meets Home Alone energy, and yes, there’s a poop joke within the first 15 minutes. Classic cinema.
“Bro, Cena’s face when the kid set off the fire hose — DEAD” Someone actually snorted soda through their nose. Worth it. “These kids are unhinged, I’d have just quit my job” Honestly, valid. They had more energy than a TikTok dance marathon.
Sue’s Spaza had all the best snacks and delectable treats. From huge caramel doughnuts to refreshing fuzzy drinks.
The group sing-along during the chaotic bedtime scene (zero pitch, full volume).

A spontaneous debate about whether John Cena actually can be seen.
The emotional support plushie getting passed around during the heartfelt ending.
A tribute of gratitude to The Etos and Media Committees, for the amazing event! Can’t wait to experience more fun and memorable moments next year!
Ferdies’ Movie Night was a chaotic good time. Even if Playing with Fire might not win an Oscar anytime soon, it definitely won over our group chats! 10/10 would watch again, preferably with more snacks and fewer fire hose re-enactments.
Next week’s lineup? TBD.
Until then, stay snack’d and stay cozy.
