The Legacy Clash at Ferdinand Postma – A Day of Unity and Passion

The day of the clash arrived. From the early morning, students, teachers and alumni gathered in large numbers ready to support their teams. The learners of Ferdinand Postma wore their school uniform, a proud and visible symbol of unity and school spirit that set us apart from the visiting teams.

The crowd was alive with excitement and passion as they cheered on every match of the day. First up were the netball girls facing Stella and the girls’ hockey team taking on Wollies. Both teams fought hard, demonstrating great skill and determination, even though the final results didn’t go in their favor. Despite this, the crowd’s support never wavered, with loud cheers and encouraging chants filling the air.

The boys’ hockey team took to the field next, facing Wollies with fierce determination. Their energy was contagious and their effort paid off with a thrilling victory that lifted the spirits of everyone present.

The grand finale was the rugby match against De Wilge and our boys did not disappoint. With great teamwork they played a powerful game, ending the day with a bang by securing a well-deserved win. Every time the rugby boys came together for a scrum, the crowd erupted in a loud and unified shout of "Lemoene!" — a chant that became the heartbeat of the match and pumped up the players with unstoppable energy. The cheers that followed the final whistle were deafening, with students, teachers and alumni erupting in celebration. Voices grew hoarse from shouting but spirits soared higher than ever.

That day was about more than just wins and losses. It was a true demonstration of what it means to be part of Ferdinand Postma — united, proud and fiercely supportive. The clash brought us together as one family, reminding us all that school spirit is strongest when we stand together.
